Galleon CI moves forward with merger integration, consolidating operations in Kent and strengthening the management structure
Galleon CI, the new magazine subscription fulfilment joint venture formed through the merger of Customer Interface and Galleon, announces plans to consolidate operations in Kent and strengthens the management structure.
Following a review of the options and after consulting with staff, Galleon CI will consolidate its operations at Kent Science Park, Sittingbourne, Kent. The operations presently based at Somerton in Somerset will transfer in 2006 to a new 20,000 square feet office adjacent to Galleon CI’s present location. By bringing together contact centre, account management and other departments, the business will be better able to serve customers, streamline processes and extend its range of services.
Alistair Ramsay, CEO of Dennis Publishing, comments:
“I am pleased one of the most difficult decisions for the merged company – how to consolidate operations – is behind us and we are looking forward to moving into our new premises.”
Strengthening the management structure
To lead the integration and growth of the business a single management team has been appointed. Tom Turcan, Chairman, Executive Management, takes on the role of acting-Managing Director. Glenn Tice, previously IT Director, Galleon has been appointed IT Director. Ranjinder Lall, presently Marketing Director at Highbury House, has been appointed Client Services Director. David Neale remains the company’s Finance Director. Mandy Thwaites, previously Managing Director, and Sean Sheffield, Head of Client Services, have both decided to leave the company.
Peter Phippen, Managing Director, BBC Magazines, says:
“As in all mergers, bringing together Galleon and Customer Interface naturally involves changes to the management team of the business. I am confident that we are making great strides towards building the UK’s gold standard subscriptions fulfilment company for the future.”
Tom Turcan, Chairman, Executive Management, adds:
“I’m pleased with the progress we are making and with the new management team’s renewed focus on meeting clients’ needs, the ultimate goal of all our efforts.”
Galleon CI was created in April 2005 as a 50:50 joint venture between BBC Magazines (previously owner of Galleon Ltd) and Dennis Publishing (previously 50% shareholder in Customer Interface Ltd). Its operations are presently based in Somerton ( Somerset), Bristol, and Sittingbourne (Kent).
